Isreal and Adalaine Hicks, an artist and a teacher, live in beautiful Cloverdale, a community of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Isreal’s passion is writing children’s books. His first book, Railroad Joe: The Sight Words Train, was published in 2005. He was born in the United States and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from A. H. Parker High School and immediately joined the United States Navy, in which he served fifteen years. Washington State was his last duty station, where he resided for twenty-five years before meeting his Canadian wife, Adelaine. Adelaine was born in Japan and has lived and attended schools in Japan, the United States, and Canada. She is a University of British Columbia graduate and has taught in the B.C Public School System for over thirty years!

They both believe a roadmap to early childhood education should be a sweet ride of fun, play, and adventure. They invite young minds of all ages to let a personal relationship with The Alphabet Heroes awaken the genius of their imagination.
